Hy Brasil. An island of Tír na nÓg, Land of the Ever Young aka Faerie, which appears on & off in our world. I spotted it once off the coast of Achill Island in the west of Ireland years ago. Wrote it into The Summer King (Penguin, Abrams NY). Apparently it prefers western coasts as do many of us.

Right. Back to work! Muscles so sore from weeding driveway (don't ask) AND painting yesterday just couldn't face the ladder yet. Last wall to be painted today & then move EVERYTHING back into galley kitchen. Not finished but the rest can be done after guests leave. Smaller jobs.

Here she's performing "Didn't It Rain" at a train depot in Manchester, England in 1964. Internet down yesterday. Heard the protest pop from modem (on shelf next to desk). Went over to sister's this morning & discovered a nationwide Vodafone outage. Then brother-in-law found chat on fb with a hack - switch LAN cable to WAN & bingo! A techie fixing something crossed wires lol.

I love when people buck the system or react in an unpredictable way proving the powers-that-be can't control everything. A Chinese animated short with cow characters 'manually' created is so bad it's good. A surprise hit - "we know it's not AI" say fans - the big cinemas have taken it on. #NiuLai
I always laugh when people say "art" is a solely human endeavour. Everything on this planet makes art & we simply take part in that beautiful activity with the rest of our environment. Any artist will say their best work comes when they turn off their mind i.e. their human consciousness.
Heading back up the stepladder. I will finish galley kitchen this week or die in the attempt. (Ladder not high, don't panic.) To date I've treated black mould spots, caulked cracks, plastered rough bits, taped inner door windows for painting & painted ceiling, some of the wall & cupboards doors.

Ep 10 #MysticNine & still haven't a bog's notion what's going on but mesmerised! Not an emotional investment, don't care if they all die (ok wouldn't want #WilliamChen to) but an intellectual fascination with puzzles, video game scenarios, Chinese theatre & demonology. Now the Japanese as well!
