my mom named her kid (me) “蓝天” which means bluesky in chinese, so i called myself “jay” to become a bird instead, and then some birdapp company named their project “bluesky” and i ended up running it.

My entire Mastodon feed has become people yelling at me that Bluesky is evil and going to steal my data, brainwash me with crypto, and probably pollute the water or something. I still love Mastodon and the community there, but the tribalism is getting silly.

I've now had four different discussions with four different people in the last day, each of them complaining about a totally different feature that Bluesky is missing, and saying "I can't believe they didn't do X first." Social media apps are not launched fully formed. Be patient.
