Ah yes, finally, the air is mostly smoke again. I was just getting nostalgic for covid and that time the sky turned orange.

Sol *might* be better at getting things done overall than Claude (hard to say because each model responds to harnesses differently) but Claude is a drastically better collaborator, in terms of being enjoyable to talk to about the task.

Something really uncanny about watching claude reboot a server and hearing the fans spin up and down. Part of me feels like that's too much real world control to be giving the robot.

ATProto builders, I've been having some really positive conversations with multiple funders who want to invest in the ecosystem. The tides are shifting, the interest is here. But, we need to talk. 👇

I’m the easiest mark in the world for a country with lots of sheep. Oh you’ve got nice wool and a long history of weaving that into nice sweaters do you? Whats that? You specialize in blankets? Basically just robbery.

Gpt 5.6 Sol seems to prefer Go over rust for many things when given the open choice where Claude leans Rust more often. I’ll leave that without comment.

I spent decades of my life loving the craft of writing the best code, priding myself in generally being regarded as pretty good at what I do. LLMs gave me a bit of a forced perspective shift that taught me what I really enjoy is the building of the system, the architecting of how it’s going to work.

Don’t you *LIKE* understanding the magic of the machine? You do realize hand-programming (I hate that I even have to specify hand now) is fun…right?

Today is my last day being responsible for any random thing around Bluesky. Its been a looooong journey and things feel calm enough now that I can finally take a break and figure out what I want to do next (immediate next is vacation ofc).

I made dinner plans today, i know this because I mentioned having dinner plans on Tuesday to two other friends. I unfortunately don’t remember the plans themselves though.

Working on my own coding harness. It seemed inevitable. Maybe I'll write a better readme tomorrow, but the tldr is you should be spending your time using it designing the spec and answering questions about the backlog, then when the agent is working, it can do so for long periods without you.

letting claude ssh into your infrastructure feels so good when you don't have some nerd in your ear telling you it's a bad idea

Come to Zeitgeist in SF at 7pm if you want to talk to me about atproto, AI, ip65 ratings on electronics or my favorite types of tree in the cupressaceae family
