i’m grilling for the first time since since i was a teenager went to IG reels to see if there’s any food creators with techniques or tips why were 1/3 of my results literal AI videos with fake black people and fake meat
people keep saying the MG 07 looks like a Taycan, and I’m really not seeing it like, yes the Xiaomi SU7 clearly is aping the Taycan….but this? It’s a sporty looking fastback sedan. the wheels are somewhat familiar, but proportionally the cars are so different.

Wrote this over the weekend: I was really worried when my parents showed up with a new Ioniq 6 lease in the middle of rural North Carolina. There aren’t many charging stations, and this was now their only car. Turns out, my worrying was for nothing. They love it. insideevs.com/features/803...
I Was Worried When My Parents Went Full EV, But They Proved Me Wrong
Even if you’re in your 70s and in Rural North Carolina, it’s not hard to live a full EV lifestyle.

Remember when the FCC banned new routers? Well now they've gone and banned new robot vacuums (not just Roomba brand, btw). www.theverge.com/policy/97231...
The US government just banned Roombas

An awesome read from @gaytonausa.bsky.social on @insideevs.com With a plug where they park, even rural low DCFC density places can be an easy EV experience these days. (For even more rural areas where gas stations are some distance away, it could be even easier) insideevs.com/features/803...

missing this thing a lot lately
idk man it’s been really clear to me that Musk doesn't want to make cars anymore
It needed a steering rack. Shoulda done this first, but the tie rods are moving back and forth in a way that shows the internals are binding inside.
you can literally see where the power steering starts and stops working let’s hope the new PS motor fixes it
worse news: my friend told me that only 4/28 cells in my pack tested usable. They’re holding power, but they’re too degraded (in his opinion) Since this car is going to a friend, we’re making sure this is in top shape.

I think it's really concerning that everyone I've talked to in the past few weeks feels incredibly futureless No one is having a good time; everyone is on edge. I don't know a single person who isn't struggling or terrified. It's damn near worse than the COVID-era shutdowns.
I see this a lot with older reviews of “boring“ cars that car journos and writers loved to shit all over. A Camry was just undrivable compared to a Mazda 6, but Toyota outsold tenfold. I’m seeing it happen again in some instances with Chinese cars. What we think ≠ how the general public feels
some parts of a car (cough, cough, driving dynamics) are actually a matter of taste, rather than execution. We don't all like the same thing, and I don’t know if car enthusiasts or writers sometimes, understand that.
I feel like there are a lot of important people that are fundamentally (and willfully) misunderstanding why Chinese cars are so alluring. I’m not always sure if car media is meeting the moment, tbh.
the air in my city of Columbus, OH visibly has smoke from fires very far away in Ontario, Canada and yet the bottom for clean energy and drive for cheap EVs and robust public transit has fallen out we live in hell
I agree. In an ideal world, I think Honda‘s Chinese lineup would be great for the USA, but I think laws and regulations make this now completely not feisable.
The Prologue was meh, but meh is better than Honda dealers having no BEV options to offer.
yeah this is just straight up Not Good Shit To Hear considering the exact phrasing used and how trans-heavy most protest movements are, since we're at the forefront of having a fucking spine
It is very funny that Stephen Miller of all people is talking about how "deformed" his political enemies are, but let's be clear: this is both eugenics and a blueprint for state punishment of anyone who does not conform to Miller's idea of "normal" (eg: heterosexual marriage with kids)

this was very easy tbh
People are shitting on the Prius again. It’s 2007 all over again, baby.
The thing about this is I remember it being a talking point *literally a decade ago*, I think time has just generally stopped moving or something
Cash 4 Clunkers wasn’t perfect but some of you have stupid and ahistorical understandings of what it did, why it existed, or what cars it targeted yall just fly off at the mouth and it makes me v mad
thinking about how in mainland China there’s a guy with a first gen Saturn SL driving around that has a cat box on it he calls it “Caturn”
