I want the statement "Black Americans are conservative" to absolutely die in a fire. It's a lie from the pits of hell. Black America's record demonstrates that, as a whole, we are the MOST progressive racial/ethnic demographic in the United States and it's not even close.

Puts on my *political strategist hat* as in I worked two decades on Democratic and progressive campaigns, and advise on a number of political campaigns and projects now The August 4 wins and losses in Michigan and Missouri were not as much about national issues or ideological divide. Walk w/me (1/

I was on a visit in Southern Virginia and stopped at a nearby winery in a county that went 2-1 for Trump in 2024 and 2-1 Winsome Sears for Virginia Gov…. I was chatting with staff and a local came up to remind one of them about the anti data center meeting coming up Indeed this has legs

I’ve been screening our documentary with organizing communities in the South. So far, the organizers mention data centers first at every single event. From racial justice orgs to old school activists who don’t usually think about tech policy. This has legs.

It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

So husbae got Gen Z interns, and every few days we both learn (cause he tells me after work 😂) something interesting: Today, the interns were looking at when the UV was highest to go tanning outside….🤔 Explains a lot…

Every damn time I watch, any show remotely set in the Southern United States Now in my defense I grew up around Southern accents so it’s familiar 😂 Like I don’t bust out with a proper NY accent when I am around New Yorkers… I do pick up the lingo after a minute tho 🤔🤔

People are making fun of AOC for having a slight southern accent while speaking in Memphis but they clearly don’t know the pain of habitually and unconsciously imitating the speaking style of the people around you

How do you think the evangelical right took over the Republican Party, when it used to be prochoice and pro ERA? How do you think Democratic Party ended up being the prochoice party, by the activists and strategists, who showed up (like me) to run for state/local Party positions & elected office 🤷🏾‍♀️

I get why it feels like this, but also, you and 3-5 neighbors could join your local (city/county) Democratic Party tomorrow and chances are they'd ASK you to run your precinct

Counterpoint: DSA would not be able to do any of this if more of elected Democrats actually… I dunno listened to their constituent concerns on…. Housing Healthcare Wages Student loan debt Immigration/ICE Corporate regulation (eg data centers) Attempting to reign in Trump admin

“Democrats appear slow to recognize that ideologues on the left are attempting a hostile takeover of the party,” James Kirchick writes. In looking for a way to reclaim control, he argues, they could find inspiration in British history:

Listen, even though it’s a Nolan movie when Black people are like “I’m going to see the Lupita and Zendaya show” I knew it’s gonna be a broad hit. Good casting and marketing move on Nolan’s team for real

THE ODYSSEY's instantly, predictably enormous success is Exhibit #32176 that the right wing's grievance-farming operation is not some great American cultural shift. Most people don't give a shit about their petty crusades.
