On this day in 1983, Strange Brew premiered in Canada. Very loosely based on Hamlet, it starred Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as Bob and Doug McKenzie. It earned $8.5 million on a $4 million budget and is now considered to be one of the best Canadian comedy films ever made.
Took in Cool Hand Luke tonight at the Revue Cinema. Haven't seen it in years. First thing I did when it was over was to see if George Kennedy won a best supporting Oscar. He did.
