THE "JUNK DATA" THAT THE FAKE COLONEL WAS TALKING ABOUT WASN'T ACTUALLY JUNK IT WAS FREE THOUGHTS AND IDEAS THAT THE PATRIOTS WANTED TO SUPPRESS TO ENSURE THAT AMERICAN HEGEMONY WOULD REIGN EVEN OVER THE NEW TECHNOLOGY OF THE WORLD WIDE WEB IT'S NOT ABOUT THERE BEING RANDOM SHIT ONLINE RAAAAAAAAAAAA

i'm not gonnna lie i'll never forgive what general internet discourse for the past 20+ years said that shit was about compared to what that shit actually ended up being about

seein people (understandably) referencing toonami being shut down in the quotes. however a week BEFORE that happened adult swim just kinda moved like half of its anime to the 5am and filled the rest of the saturday block with comedies. imagine staying up to watch code geass and getting assy mcgee

fun question for 2000s anime fans: when did you realize the anime bubble had popped? for me, it was batman: gotham knight. IIRC it was first hyped as anime, but by the time it made it to release (2008) mention of anime had been scrubbed and replaced with "the world's most visionary animators" ha!

"I can't believe people focus so much on how projects do financially" I can, every corporation on earth has spent the past 20 years holding the sword of damocles over the head of every single thing anybody likes as a marketing tactic, tends to engender a fixation on that sorta thing

One of the interesting things looking back to fandom responses of yesteryear is, imo, how much quicker they were to call things a "x ripoff/clone". I think it's part of having a smaller media landscape with fewer releases per year, and also a lot of genres being nascent at the time.

i hate all this cockwatching that happens for art now. this movie is a giant flop at the box office, this game only has this many players!! are you a stock broker or a human with a pulse and a heart?? DID YOU LIKE IT OR NOT??? GOD DAMN

-There was a brief moment a decade ago that I had a goth avatar. Wearing one of those silly inflatable costumes. Strangely more shinier than the average one.

Another fan translation dropped yesterday and I completely missed it: Aigis The First Mission, the Persona 3 prequel made for Japanese feature phones, currently available on Steam via GMode Archives. Best as I can tell, this one does not utilize MTL either. github.com/MKCAMK/G-MOD...

Translated screenshot of Aigis The First Mission, showing the character Aigis fighting enemies, with text reading "Level up! Lv. 3"Translated screenshot of Aigis The First Mission, showing the character Aigis saying, "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mister Aizawa the Degenerate Oaf."
