Took the stage this weekend at the GA Democratic Convention where democrats are fired up to send a science voice to Congress because we value truth and facts over lies, and epidemiologists and researchers over conspiracy theorists!

Last Friday was open house across Lilburn, and it was my honor to partner with Effect Foundation, Inc to provide back to school supplies and book bags to Lilburn Elementary and Lilburn Middle Schools. I hope all the students have a great first day of school this week!

As a mom, many of the decisions I make come back to one question: Will this leave my children, and all children, with a better future? That's the standard I bring to public service.

Trump's America is not working. It's making us sick! It's time to bring facts, evidence, and truth back to policy-making. That's why I'm running for Congress!

The strongest economy is one where working families can afford a home, raise their kids, save for retirement, and build wealth. I have the audacity to believe this is achievable.

As a community leader, and a mom, I refuse to accept that school shootings are just something we have to live with. We can respect the Second Amendment and pass common-sense gun laws that keep our kids safe.

Yesterday, I drove to Lumpkin, GA to visit Pauline Binam at Stewart Detention Facility. Her story deserves to be heard. She’s been victimized by our immigration system, her reproductive organs non-consensually taken from her body, and now she’s been taken from her daughter, who needs her right now.

This is good information for everyone. And it is also why those of us in Georgia’s 13th Congressional district need to elect Dr. Clark in November. We desperately need someone with her intelligence, background, and ability to communicate clearly in Congress!

A quick update on the Cyclospora outbreak.

The strength of our community has always been our people. Teachers. Nurses. Small business owners. Parents. Students. Everything I do is for them, not billionaires and corporations.

As a professor, I've seen firsthand what students can accomplish when they're given the opportunity to succeed. Our public schools deserve investment, our teachers deserve respect, and every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential.

I've spent years teaching students how to think critically. I think Washington could use more of that.

Public health in our country is in peril. From seeing a record number of vaccine-preventable measles cases to a parasitic outbreak, we need to get this right. We need a CDC director that will unequivocally fight for the health of our nation and not just rubber stamp RFK Jr.’s anti-science agenda.

Infectious diseases like cyclospora and measles are spreading because the people in charge don't care about public health. That's why we need more scientists and/or healthcare professionals in the room. That's why I'm running.

Homeownership shouldn’t be reserved for corporations and hedge funds. That’s why I’m celebrating the bipartisan housing bill that will help expand affordable housing, despite Trump’s efforts to stop it. In GA-13, where too many families are being priced out, this is a step in the right direction.

As a scientist, I tend to think of things from the context of ecosystems. Every policy decision affects all of us. Government should work the same way—considering how policies affect every family, every worker, and every community.

When Republicans tried to ban AP African American Studies in Georgia, I fought back and won. I have boldly stood up for what's right, and I'll bring that same fight to Congress.
