Some people are profoundly, deeply decent and they don't have one laugh in them. I have a tremendously difficult time dealing with people who are utterly devoid of a single shred of irony. This is quite probably because I am a bad person in some nebulous way.

Europe: Right, some of you lot get romance languages, the others get Germanic languages. Any questions? Estonia, Finland, and Hungary: Nope. Europe: I beg your pardon? EFH: Sorry, not gonna. Europe: That's a bit stroppy. EFH: Don't worry, we understand you, you needn't understand us.

What are some plays you cannot live without? (Full disclosure, I was in several of these as a student) • Huis clos, Jean-Paul Sartre. • Arsenic and Old Lace, Joseph Kesselring. • Art, Yasmina Reza. • Amadeus, Peter Shaffer. • Our Town, Thornton Wilder. • The Homecoming, Harold Pinter.

I always get a little nervous when I see "bougie" thrown down as an insult, because quite frankly, I am a petit bourgeois. I'm painfully middle-class, own a house, and have responsibility over several business areas where I work. I TRY to not be an asshole, I promise.

Well, here's a new one on me. Apparently some people consider "eclectic" to be an insult. I literally am boggled by this. I'm fascinated by everything and have wide-ranging tastes. I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean that I have bad taste.

A heretical thought: if you need to go to therapy, you need to understand that some therapists are not right for you and some of them are absolutely bad. I had an awful therapist a decade ago who basically ruined my life for about three years.

If ever you are in an interminable meeting that has run well over time, you should mutter lugubriously, "Klytus, I'm bored. What plaything can you offer me today?" Admittedly, this could be a career-limiting move...

Russell Vought terrifies me. The first time I ever saw him speaking with that dead, uninflected, monotonous voice, every fiber of my being shuddered. I knew two things immediately: this man genuinely enjoys harming people and he's intelligent enough to leverage his authority to do so at scale.
