We would like to introduce you to our fourth recipient of the 2026 BFF Community Garden Fund, Chris Hubeon & Beal Neal Community Garden in Bellport, NY! The garden was established in 2010 by community members wanting access to fresh produce in their food desert neighborhood.

Meet food system strategist and storyteller, Adjoa Kittoe. Since 2024, she is ⅓ responsible for deploying over $600k in emergency funding to 50 agricultural and food businesses in the Northeast as a BFF Rapid Response Fund (RRF) Committee member.

Meet Avis Alberta Love Garden, our second recipient of the 2026 BFF Community Garden Fund. Based in Pittsburgh, the garden is a Black women-led space where community, care, and connection grow alongside the plants. With the gift, they can finally remove invasive vegetation and plant new trees.

Big news! The 2026 BFF Community Garden Fund awarded $500 each to 31 Black-led gardens in the Northeast! 1st recipient: 400 Montauk Community Garden in East NY. With the gift, they can expand their medicinal herb garden and workshops!

Our team recently convened in uptown NYC for our 2nd quarter staff meetup! We discussed project management and tech trends at our Operations workshop. Later, we connected over East African cuisine at Massawa and viewed Black art at the Studio Museum.
