We should really work together, hand and hand, to focus all of our community’s poorly-suppressed and totally ruthless bullying energy on the single demographic we all agree actually deserves it: Harry Potter Adults in the year of our lord 2026
Might as well post it here! A magical girl animation I've been slowly chipping at over the weekends for ages.
*hikes up pants old man style* Back in my day, you’d go to the movies and for $5 you would see full-frontal Harvey Keitel unprovoked and without any warning whatsoever. It didn’t take you outta the movie, it WAS the movie. And that’s the way we liked it.
Yes, that’s the problem
I honestly would love to know what policymakers think will happen to social mobility, regional growth, employment, and educational attainment, when all these provincial universities are gone or shrink to almost non existence? Isn’t avoiding that disaster alone worth a billion quid right now??
Yeah well, maybe you shouldn't take an axe to its biggest university then, you stupid idiots. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
An absolutely fascinating, eye-opening and somewhat alarming read about how the drinking culture of my student days was socially engineered by alcohol companies
"vertical drinking" is an industry term refering to a design of venue which is socially engineered to encourage faster (& thus more) drinking. it's not some council nimby conspiracy, it's a thing. Might be misused in this case but it's a real technical term invented by the businesses in question

Orchids revived, the corpse ambulant and a poetic ruined abbey. These are the news stories I want to read.
those who work in University writing programs should pay close attention—developing AI-friendly teaching doesn't make you safe from layoff www.thecrimson.com/article/2026...
It's extremely rude of Rose to release some of her amazing tentacle pots in shades of pink AFTER I'd already bought one in blue, but the good news is that leaves more tentacle pots available for the potless.
I should revisit that episode of You're Wrong About on why older people are generally more susceptible to misinformation, because I suspect that the venn diagram overlap between them and Boomers who use these AI tools is massive.
Parents are fed up with friends and relatives giving their kids “personalized” AI-generated storybooks with characters resembling their kids. Apart from data privacy concerns, literacy experts say these garbled and convoluted narratives could be an impediment to learning how to read.
Publisher in this piece says “If an author has used AI to help support their research for a nonfiction book, that’s fine. But… that means that we now need together to apply another layer of human research to make sure that the facts are actually true.” So it’s not fine really, is it?

Some publishers think AI could not only help authors but replace them

Typical of UK gov that, if a uni goes bust, their only concern is what happens to current students and not any of the thousands of staff who will lose jobs, not to mention small local businesses reliant on universities for custom, or future working class students who will be robbed of opportunity.
For real though.
I saw the poster for OTHER MOMMY and I genuinely thought it was Bryce Dallas Howard. Time to study up again youtu.be/ipObSiFHpyY?...

Two people tried to enter a screening of The Odyssey without buying tickets after hiding inside a miniature model of the Trojan Horse. 😂😂😂
The IMAX cinema where I saw The Odyssey gave me a free collectable film still, but I'd have preferred a collectable film sparkling.
