and here's the thing: too many writers these days pretend they're in the dark about anything that seems "controversial". i have a hard time being a part of the community, because i have no respect for my fellow authors. sometimes i even wonder if want to write at all anymore.
i don't mind people not knowing certain things, but i hate it when someone's willingly ignorant, when somebody doesn't WANT to know or understand sth. for that kind of person i have no respect.
when i was 20, a guy in a bar asked me if i'd read naomi klein's no logo, and i was like: i've heard of her, but haven't read any of her novels. 🤡
i cried so much on 9/11. we were watching it on tv (CNN mostly). my parents and my sister were glued to the screen, worried, and i went to my mom and dad's bed and cried my eyes out. when you survive a war, you instantly know how bad things are. bosnians knew.

moram priznati da više ne mogu podnijeti tupe i isprazne ljude. prije sam mogla, makar nakratko, tolerirati glupost. više ne. za vikend sam provela par sati u društvu nevjerojatno glupe osobe i evo, još uvijek ne mogu doći k sebi. doslovno sam bolesna od tog pokušaja "konverzacije".
ljudi žive kao da se oko njih ništa loše ne događa zato što ne doživljavaju okolinu. ogromna doza bezosjećajnosti, pogotovo u okolnostima globalnog zatopljenja, ozbiljan je problem: asocijalni ljudi reagiraju isključivo kad su osobno ugroženi, a tad je već prekasno. ne samo za njih.
otkrila sam od početka pandemije do danas zapanjujući broj asocijalnih ljudi koji nedostatak empatije prikrivaju velikim, odglumljenim emocijama. što je osoba prema van teatralnija u svojim osjećajima, to je vjerojatnije da prema drugima ne osjeća apsolutno ništa. okruženi smo ljudima-ljušturama.
