They can kinda get lost in the mix of prestige actor driven studio action movies, but the Equalizer trilogy has some stuff to it, thematically and stylistically The final action scenes are mini slasher movies, with gimmicked kills are themed after novel settings like hardware stores or harbor towns
Everything Rockstar does makes sense when you consider that they're a shareholder-first company. Only releasing trailers when stocks take a dip. Excessive takedowns of leakers. It looks like bad marketing, bad PR, but it puts a smile on the face of rich assholes who don't play video games.
