Skelfhill Pen and Gritstone Edge from Tudhope Hill 599m - viewed during my big walk from Billhope Hermitage Burn valley climbing Cauldcleugh Head, the most easterly 2000ft hill in Scotland.
What is this moorland plant on Tudhope Hill at the head of the Hermitage Burn valley, Scottish Borders.
Talkin and Simmerson Fells from high on Tarnmonath Fell, Geltsdale. The heather is blooming beautiful.
Descending from the hills to the north yesterday I was struck by how visible in the landscape the stones of Castlerigg stone circle are 🧐😮 Even on my phone camera you can zoom in & see the circle clearly.. These Late Neo stones were supremely sited on a high plateau - a real focal point 👌 📷 Me
We do not build the reservoirs needed to store the rain that falls here. We do not build strategic food reserves needed to maintain provision in hard times. We failed to build effective stores of PPE, to protect us in pandemics. This country has long been governed by people who do not prepare.
Arhh summer is so refreshing when it finally arrives.

Spot the projecting flat-topped stone set at mid height in this tall field-wall. This was probably an original feature inserted to enable an agile young shepherd to hop over the wall. The netting fence showing just how nimble sheep can be too!
