I will say though as someone who was too intimidated to play Dark Souls thanks to its reputation for many years, it's not that difficult! I played it through for the first time earlier this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. The key is not to play is as you think it should be from stories and vids.

My biggest problem with this is that a certain section of the audience believes a good review is one that conforms to the general consensus. Somewhere along the line people really lost the idea that not only can they have a different opinion on a piece of media, but differing opinions are exciting.
