Daughter (14) asked me how old I thought Jenna Davis (her favorite-singer-at-the-moment) was while she was showing me three or ten of her music videos. I was pretty close. I guessed 19, she's 22. She says, "Yeah, but she looks pretty good for her age."

Sorry for not being very talkative lately. Finally got completely distracted watching this Facebook reel about a billionaire but no one believed he was a billionaire. He almost proved it but then everyone went back to thinking he was lying. Had me on the edge of my seat.

I think I cracked the code for viral social media videos: 1. Main character is something 2. Everyone insists that character is not that something 3. MC proves they are that something 4. Everyone is awed, but then insists MC is not that something 5. GOTO 3 6. ??? 7. Monetize! I'm gonna be rich.

Facebook reminded me of this moment, four years ago today. On that day, told the restaurant server that I would take my food, and her, home tonight. She didn't react in any way because she was step-daughter and didn't drive yet. But to anyone that overheard that out of context, yikes.

Don't forget: You're allowed to set boundaries without apology. You're allowed to protect your peace. You're allowed to choose distance, silence, privacy, and safety. You're allowed to take care of you.

Well, pretty sure I'm done for. Four decades of living and I'm pretty sure this popcorn kernel is going to do me in. What an inglorious way to go. So if anyone could please take revenge on orville redenbacher and/or his kin, I'd appreciate it.

If I ever see someone rushing through the city, carrying an implausible number of rolled-up blueprints, I'm going to be nice to them. Statistically, they're either going to become a superhero, a supervillain, or some other sort of main character. Whatever the case, blueprints seem to be the key.

Friends (and friends of friends), I need help. I'm hosting a fundraiser event for Operation Operation Safe Escape (the anti-domestic violence charity I run); it's a three hour telethon to be held on May 23rd, kind of in the style of Jerry Lewis but updated for modern attention spans.

I just found out that Alucard is Dracula spelled backwards. Like, I just found this out yesterday, despite living this whole life and everything. And I only found it out because someone pointed out how obvious it was.

"Poor American foxes. Every time they want to have crab soup, they have to drive to the nearest market" (if you get the reference, I hope your back is okay today)

Today I learned that the People's Temple cult (led by Jim Jones) actually drank grape Flavor Aid, not Kool-aid as commonly believed. I'm going to start saying "drank the Flavor Aid" to be historically accurate.

I have a shot to achieve my lifelong goal. The one thing that's really mattered for the past several decades. I get to try out to be a contributing reporter for the Weekly World News. I've never been so excited and so nervous.

During a @safeescape.org meeting, I reminded the team that we are not legally required to report immigration status for anyone we're helping. And we sure as hell don't do it voluntarily either. One said, "didn't occur to me to ask, but I wouldn't anyway." I'm sitting here, very proud of them.

Trent Reznor, the man I am currently watching tear up the stage and electrify a crowd is 60 years old. I got winded walking up the stairs to the venue. I need to be more like Trent.
