Going to a movie theatre screening of the Jet Lag finale tonight and finding myself being simultaneously extremely sure several of my friends would find this exciting but also having no idea who because it feels like no-one talks about Jet Lag

Stepped out of Timmins airport, heard some jets, looked up and it was only the bloody Snowbirds in formation en route to somewhere else
So there was no Rocky appearance but considering it was a Wednesday night game with like 200 fans I guess I can't be too surprised Tremendous atmosphere though, there was even a tiny group of ultras chanting pretty much the whole game in an otherwise nearly silent stadium, exquisite vibes

I've historically rarely bought movie theatre snacks (true to raccoon form I'm a bit of a snack smuggler) but lately I have been coerced into it, except TIL the local cinema's popcorn/soda/candy "combos" cost precisely the same as the items sold separately and I'm not sure I can handle this betrayal
Another 'first come first served' con hotel booking rush where bad eyesight made me unbelievably slow Still blows my mind that the biggest cons still use systems that systematically disadvantage so many disabled people (as well as anyone who can't be online at a specific time)

It has taken several years but I have finally come up with a furry convention Ottawa pun I am unironically proud of
The weirdest thing about attending a statistics conference at a furry convention hotel is I'm sat here trying to focus on understanding a talk about some complex mathematical theory and all I can think about is how much more fun it was to be here dressed as a giant animal

Being a tourist in Boston when you're British is weird, it's like no matter what attraction I go to everyone acts like we're the bad guys, it's frightfully rude tbh
Checking in for a statistics conference that's coincidentally at the ANE hotel and the check in guy was like "I see you've stayed with us before" and like obviously that's a totally normal thing the hotel computer told them but I still couldn't help imagining a sense of "we know what you really are"
One of the things that's easy to miss about disability is how much time it costs; like being blind already makes me slower at a million things and then on top of that you have stuff like this where it could trivially be accommodated online but instead you waste hours jumping through needless hoops
