Cooper Pratt is only 22? Not sure how that’s possible, Can’t Hardly Wait came out in 1998
Levi Weaver, but for baseball

Ok I will talk about baseball here instead. I co-write The Windup with Ken Rosenthal on The Athletic. It’s a newsletter.
if this brewers lead holds, then it means i have scrambled to my remote to mute the tv for the torturous evil malevolent vodka commercial — which played first out of LITERALLY every commercial break for the world series and most of the playoffs — for the last time. i will be free dare i hope???
For the Rays, you might very well say that tonight has been … Misiorable. [waits for an uncomfortably long pause] Because his na— ok you get it ok thanks, that's... no, no, that's my whole set. I'm good. Thank you.
Things I’ve said out loud in the last week: “IDC who wins, I just want a sweep.” “This series has been so fun to watch” “I hope it doesn’t go 7; that’d be Halloween & I’ve got kids” “If they’re just gonna do a lockout anyway, could we get an 11-game series?” “4-7 games til I get my life back!”
i can never tell if people like or hate baseball
JOE BUCK: Welcome to the top of the 47th [Sun rises] [Sun keeps getting bigger] BUCK: yes [World engulfed by flames] BUCK: oh god yes
79.7 on that Ashby throw to first. Incredibly, there have been several harder just this postseason, like this guy. I guess it's hard to filter out "I have no choice" vs. Ashby's "I am doing this because I want to," though.
Just over here wondering why the MLB app design team decided that Jackson Chourio and Junior Caminero needed blue eyes
DFW folks: One guy who deserves a ton of credit for helping me learn the baseball writing world is TR Sullivan. He covered the Rangers for ~25 years, then wrote a book about it; you can pick one up and meet him tonight from 6-7 pm at 2 Brothers Sports Bar & Grill (8308 Preston Road in Plano)
[Dracula watching Jake Bauers this postseason]
HELL YEAH VALKS 💪🏻

And with that — we're going to get a first-time World Series winner this year.
BTW, forgot to update: Suspended my ad. I paid $13 for 100s of people to see my dumb face, but it never came up for me. I'm not smart enough to figure out why. The horrible WWE vodka ad is still first up, every break. I've learned to preemptively mute. I lost the war, but gained a lifelong grudge
I did not see my ad play yesterday while I was watching the four DS games. However. There has been a development. SOMEONE SAW IT. MULTIPLE SOMEONES, IN FACT
Matt Festa is now making the face that I can only describe as "is getting extremely and hurtfully roasted by his boss in a performance review, and is attempting to nod in a way that projects 'I am learning from this' but also the boss is being, like, really mean."
I wolde smyte my lord out on thre piches. Slider withoute. He feleth as he were drenchid. Curveball in the erthe, of cours he chaseth it. Ladybird y-souk, sle thy-self. And bang 97 withinne corner. Thou art out. Thou were alweyes out. Thou hast be out sith the day that thou were born.
Not a bad baseball stance. From the 14th-century Le Roman de la Rose.
Maybe like 10 of you will understand this, but the longer the postseason goes and the more tired I get, the more worried I am that I will open my mouth to say “Jacob Misiorowski” and the words “Jacob Wysocki” are gonna fall out.
All I want is for the AI bots to keep advancing juuuust enough that they learn how to feel pain.
It is so funny to me to hear last night’s postgame quotes and in the background, the players are singing ᴹⁱˡwaukee ᴮʳᵉʷers
What mainstream media doesn't want you to know is that Luis Rengifo had 209 plate appearances for the 2026 Milwaukee Brewers
[leans in to Joe Davis' ear and whispers] **Actually, I think they changed it to "IL Hall" a few years ago.**
This is the box score from tonight’s lineup of a team that is three wins away from a World Series.
I have *mostly* stayed off all social media when I’m not actively posting about baseball games and I’m starting to think I should continue that throughout the offseason and also the lockout. I know nothing of this feud. I am free.
last night I said to my offline husband “hey do the words Kelly Clarkson bird animatronic feud mean anything to you” and he looked at me like jimmy_butler_tired.jpg. I cannot wait to say the sentence “Pablo Torre has the footage btw” to him and see what happens
Here at MLB, we stand by our commitment to make our app worse with each and every update. Our latest: tired of being able to scroll between weeks? Try clicking on our new calendar mode! (We made it so all double-digit numbers won’t fit.)
did the freezing cold takes folks migrate to bluesky with us, or do i just need to self-report from now on?
As dramatic and fun as this back-and-forth is tonight, my biggest takeaway is that I just do not think either of these teams look remotely qualified to beat the Rays.
Caminero bats fifth in the bottom of the ninth, if anyone is trying to figure out the most dramatic outcome possible.
There have been at least a half-dozen plays **in this game alone** where I've thought "If [team] win this series, we're going to remember that play." It's too early in the series for that! And yet
OK pitchers gotta stop trying to throw the ball to first base today. There's a system glitch somewhere, we gotta reset it. Just stop throwing over there for today.
Nothing could’ve prepared me for the ad read of the century from the Brewers radio broadcast after that Christian Yelich go-ahead single:
You're giving them too much credit. This is the company whose ads are like "On a Wednesday after a rainstorm, catchers whose first names start with J have a 55% chance of walking if they jump the foul line and more than 50% of fans are wearing rally caps."
They had to have been assuming he would get a second (or 4th) PA later and the 38% is either this one or the next one. Nobody has a 38% chance of getting a hit in a single PA.
