Are you interested in the role of visual information in controlling gait stability? In this new paper from our group we exploited optic flow perturbations to study the relationship between gait stability and gait speed. First-authored by Chunchun Wu, read it open access here: doi.org/10.1016/j.hu...

We had a great time hosting Janneke Schwaner from Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems at our department the past days. Thanks Janneke for your inspiring lecture on the neuromechanics of agile movements, interactive discussions on comparative biomechanics and showing us why tails are useful.

Co-activation can be functional, to stabilize, or pathological, e.g. after stroke, but both are captured in one EMG recording. In our recent paper (first-author Ellis van Can) we isolate functional co-activation through a leg-swinging task in healthy adults. Open access: doi.org/10.1016/j.ga...

Want to learn about spinal reflex modulation during locomotor adaptation? Come to my talk tomorrow at #ISB2025 and find me after to talk about spinal locomotor control. 🗓️ 31 July, 08:10 AM 📍Room C4 💡Session 12G - Locomotion (Motor Control)

Will you be at ISB or ASB in the coming weeks? Definitely come talk to me or someone from our group about a new Postdoc Position we are looking to fill asap in foot neuromechanics, aging, and gait. I'll post the official call for applications soon. Join us at UNC Chapel Hill! Reposts encouraged.

We had an amazing time organizing #DynamicWalking 2025 in Aachen. It was great to see how our interactive single-track approach, including daily social events, city tours, a panel, demo's and more, sparked discussion between new and old members of our community. See you next year!
