From Beyond (1986) - Another goop fest, this one actually is stronger than Re-Animator. boxd.it/gLzHeL
A ★★★★ review of From Beyond (1986)
My hot take on From Beyond is that I think it’s a slightly better film than Re-Animator. They’ve got about the same amount of goop factor, though this time the goop is more pink than anything, but th...

Halloween: Doctor, Doctor, Doctor and Other Stories: Just about on par with last year’s Halloween set. Again it’s the UNIT story that’s the real standout of the set, being a great example of how to set a story in the Doctor Who universe without a real direct connection to the parent show, something
Halloween: Overworked by: Hannah Kennedy: My one big critique of this is that the back third or so does undercut the horror, yet Kennedy is telling a really good story about being overworked and the burnout that comes with it. It just so happens that that burnout can lead to horrific consequences
Halloween: Office Space by: Georgia Cook and Fio Trethewey: Love it when Big Finish decides the only place for a horror story to go is to kill every character. That’s where Office Space ends. It’s already got no returning characters but Cook and Trethewey follow the soap opera model of introducing
Halloween: The Song of the Reed Man by: Katherine White: Fine. Okay putting the Third Doctor and Jo in a folk horror isn’t a bad idea, neither is doing the same with the Krynoids. White attempts to add more to the Krynoids, slowly taking people over instead of the quicker body horror of The Seeds
I love when a comic stomps on my heart and chucks it into the sun!! Gahh so excited to be back as a guest Everyone should go check this out!!!!!

A World of Difference by: Richard Matheson (1.23) - I’m probably giving this episode too much praise but the opening scene is just that strong. The reveal that we have been on a movie set as a character comes to life and inhabits the body of the actor playing him is just a beautifully staged
Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970) - Works so well by not overusing Lee and giving into a lot of high camp melodrama. boxd.it/gKsBVh
A ★★★½ review of Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970)
Utterly bonkers Dracula film. Throwing out Bram Stoker’s novel for a story where the heroes are all absolutely awful people outside of a young romantic couple. Dracula’s massacring of everyone, some...

The Monsters are Due on Maple Street by: Rod Serling (1.22) - One of the all time iconic episodes of The Twilight Zone for a reason. In the span of a half hour we watch as a suburban street falls apart and people start killing each other when the lights go out. The Monsters are Due on Maple Street
Mirror Image by: Rod Serling (1.21) - Love that in the preview for this one Rod Serling says he wrote it as a challenge because he’s been told he can’t write women. Vera Miles is the star of this one so of course there’s an excellent central performance but this is mostly Serling doing quite
Elegy by: Charles Beaumont (1.20) - This one is particularly good at executing its twist. The first half plays on similar ideas as Where is Everybody? but explicitly with three astronauts on a planet frozen in time. There’s a massive tonal shift when the nature of the planet is revealed,
The Purple Testament by: Rod Serling (1.19) - You can always tell when somebody writes a piece of speculative fiction from a place of reality. That’s what’s particularly good about The Purple Testament, Serling served in the United States Army during World War II and depicting the deaths of

Bad Seeds enters its second half with Matt Fraction’s latest issue of #Batman that’s all about Verity Pennyworth, a home invasion, the climax of Batman & Robin, and skeletons in the closet.

Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969) - It actually goes too far with one of the darkest scenes in the franchise that is a black mark on what could be one of Hammer's best Frankenstein films. boxd.it/gIO8hX
A ★★★½ review of Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969)
So the audience can really get behind the idea that Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed, director Terence Fisher has Peter Cushing's Baron Frankenstein do the unthinkable, sexually assault a woman in her s...

Constantly being vindicated for never skipping an episode of this show. @hezoriszid.bsky.social and I continue our #StarTrek journey today with 'Redemption Part 1'! youtu.be/tkZ5cD1SI6Q
And now the thrilling conclusion of #StarTrek Redemption that goes for a more action oriented season opener, though not without its important character moments. It's also one of the few points where a Data storyline is actually unnecessary: jacoblickliderreviews.blogspot.com/2026/10/rede...
Dracula (1974) - Dan Curtis saw into the future and wanted to beat Ford Coppola. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have Sam Hall to save him. boxd.it/gI34Px

Maybe the obvious trap to kill everyone was a bit obvious? Poison Ivy 48 is fantastic as a look into Ivy’s psyche.

The Last Flight by: Richard Matheson (1.18) - I absolutely love how Matheson uses time travel to examine the mindset of a soldier with this one. It’s essentially a story of redemption and the real tragedy is the Decker, our protagonist, does not get the chance to see his friend one last time.
The Fever by: Rod Serling (1.17) - It’s clear that Rod Serling cares about this one. It’s a straightforward drama of a man who falls victim to a gambling addiction and then dies. I understand it but it does feel like the outlier of the show so far, there’s an obvious moral but Franklin Gibbs
Maybe Joshua Williamson shouldn’t be forced to do these massive events? Kingdom of Zod’s ending isn’t bad but the thesis is found in the final issue and that’s a problem for something already stretched thin.
