Has anyone checked on Tom Lee? Does he still think SPX 8k by Labor Day?
Oh look the Professor now thinks the market can have a whoosh (before it rallies again). Three weeks ago there was no concern, he was all puppies and rainbows
Three weeks ago a regular on Fin TV scoffed and said we need not fret over rates or oil. Market is just fine. Today he gave a speech saying the market is telling us rates and oil is not good. My pinned tweet in action.
Someone please tell me when the 'rate of change' has gone too far. Cuz I want to know when we're gonna have the next 'clearing event'. tyia
Question: when does a supply shock become more permanent? I mean oil been high since March. Do we wait one year? I honestly don't know.
Will today's 'rate of change' get folks to change their minds?
Have now seen this RTd all over the place. I keep the data by hand and this is incorrect. I count (at least) 8 other dates that breadth was worse. Data source: WSJ
Yesterday was the 3rd worst breadth day of 2026, with more than 60% of S&P 500 constituents declining 📉. It was only the 3rd such session all year, the fewest YTD since 2010 🕰️ 2026 ranks among the strongest breadth environments of the past 20 years 🏛️✨ @bluekurtic
When I lived in Singapore the American Women's Association did an annual shopping trip to the Manila Market. Ladies came home with all sorts of Christmas stuff.
🇵🇭 Christmas arrives early in the Philippines as 'ber months' begin In a Manila market, a platoon of plastic Santa Claus figures hangs from the ceiling of a shop that is already stacked high with Christmas decorations, despite the holiday being four whole months away.
AAII Bulls and Bears slept through the last week. Bulls 38% Bears 39.3%
Personal Heuristic: if the lead story on the NY Times website is about the bond market, fade whatever's happening.
Personal heuristic: If the lead story on the NY Times website is about the bond market, things are not going well with the economy.
Chris Verone says there is a lot of bearishness. Offers no data to back that up though.
Looks like the market decided to 'Sell Rosh Hashona'. Will the market 'Buy Yom Kippur'?
