I remember watching this movie when I was in middle school and even back then I found it disappointing. I tried giving it another go to see if anything changed but nope. I'm sorry but a movie with vampires and werewolves fighting each other should NOT be this aggressively boring!!!
December 25th? Oh that is too bad because that is the same day Werwulf comes out!! So sad but hey, at least we can reasonably be sure Robert Eggers will have enough common sense to NOT make werewolf-ism into a misguided metaphor for AIDS.
I wouldn't be surprised if years from now you are gonna hear plenty of up-and-coming animators, artists, filmmakers and novelists who will cite Wildwood as a childhood favorite that inspired them. What a wonderful and breath-taking achievement in stop-motion animation!!
Undeniably a flawed movie but always appreciated its strong emotional core and the themes pertaining to the passage of time. Also really love Dennis McCarthy's score, especially for the third act when Picard is in the Nexus. youtu.be/75Y6-6_kr24?...

Stewart gave so many epic speeches but I always come back to his closing monologue about time in Star Trek: Generations. RIP youtu.be/QY-hkFABu_I?...

Happy #internationalanimationday! Here are 5 great animated films made outside the US. Avoided Japan to not make things TOO easy for myself. My Life as Zucchini (France) Son of White Mare (Hungary) The Snow Queen [1957] (Soviet Union) Boy and the World (Brazil) I Am Frankelda (Mexico)
I know I'm cheating with Zeta Gundam given its a tv series but I couldn't help it. bsky.app/profile/ncst...
NCSteve@ncsteve.bsky.social · 4d agoHas there ever been a movie that surprise-killed off more apparent main characters than L.A. Confidential that wasn't a) a Tarentino flick and b) didn't have Sean Bean in the cast?
On one end I'm sure it will be a good show but at the same time this can't help but feel like the equivalent of Napoleon crowning himself. www.npr.org/2026/10/27/g...

I would not be surprised if Nathan Fielder took inspiration from this equally mind-bending documentary film by Orson Welles. youtu.be/gPAMp6X9Qc8?...

I think back to this clip showing Eric Bauza doing incredible impressions of not one, not two, not three but FOUR different versions of the Joker in an ep of Teen Titans Go! Just stupidly talented!! RIP youtube.com/shorts/TSmnW...

I'm absolutely speechless. Not only a legit wonderful successor to Mel Blanc but seemed like a wonderful human being too. Its an absolute crime that he was snatched away from us during the prime of his career. deadline.com/2026/10/eric...

Probably one of the most intense, mind-blowing and unforgettable cinematic experiences I've had this year. Better to go in knowing as little as possible outside of the basics on the Holmes case. This movie will have you questioning everything along with our relationship with documentaries.
I feel a bit embarrassed it took me this long to realize how different Satsuki looks on the Totoro poster compared to the movie. Why does she have pigtails? Because initially there was only gonna be one little girl protagonist before they decided to split her into two sisters.
I was waiting and there it was, Huey Lewis and the News singing over the Ghostbusters theme song! It fits so well, you'd think the song was actually theres! 😂 youtu.be/6Iyu1jKjSZ0?...
