I am so grateful for the clarity here, I just sent the @aclu.org more money. We have a choice on Tuesday between this world and that world. https://action.aclu.org/give/now
The latest @ACLU.org motion nails what makes the Trump regime's Alaska lawsuit an authoritarian disgrace. No government with democratic legitimacy would ask a court to block election results until federal police can interrogate citizens about their secret ballots. Doc buff.ly/WNAUide
Trick or treat traffic has been down this year. Surprised because it's usually pretty steady and the weather is perfect for it (not always the case). 🎃
Exactly this. (Follow Dan, BTW. Excellent takes on corporate news media.)
They are center-left but utterly self-absorbed. Proving their “independence” is more important than anything else. That means they hype the hell out of any story that makes Dems look bad and, even worse, wildly understate the existential threat Trumpism represents to the nation.
Desperate, bottom of the barrel stuff from DOJ. Even if donors were confused and felt misled, that doesn’t get you to fraud, which requires the intent to get someone’s money by defrauding them. Mixups don’t count. Get a refund.
This is sick. Trump's FBI is paying visits to Alaska voters to try to get them to say they were misled by the second "Dan Sullivan" on the ballot. It's not going so well. (Supports my argument below that this is really about creating a pretext for Trump to demand Rs refuse to certify/seat Peltola)
C'mon. This is to be (and has always been) expected on Election Day and for months to come. Crippling the system with lawsuits has been his M.O. for decades. Roy Cohn playbook. The plan may be to escalate every case to SCOTUS.
Taylor: "The signal has been sent. Folks worried about this & thought maybe there was a chance this administration was going to just take some losses the way that you would expect them to, but that doesn't look like it's going to be the case. I think we're going to have a messy post-election period"
I keep coming back to the same thought I've had for the past decade of elections: It shouldn't be close. Here we are sweating over polls that are essentially 50/50. I don't see us ever making it to a brighter future when every election is a nailbiter against obvious thugs.
Monroe County voters, make sure you're headed to the right polling place on Tuesday 🗳️
I began tonight with a theory: A bourbon snickerdoodle recipe already exists. Reader, I was correct.

On one of our stops in the Finger Lakes yesterday (Standing Stone Vineyards) we had a moment of zen at a koi pond. They came right over to us. Our host told us visitors feed them a lot. It shows!
Took the day off to hit the Finger Lakes wine country. Hadn't been down the east side of Seneca Lake in a while, and we stopped in at Boundary Breaks Winery, just south of Ovid. Excellent wines and a spectacular view to match. We really live in an amazing region.
See, RFK jr is using a simple formula. You can plug in anyone who's not a straight white western male, because it's irrelevant that his comments are easily refuted. The point is that he says whatever he wants and nobody's going to do anything about it. The more incendiary, the better.
Made my grandmother's apple cake from my mom's old handwritten recipe this weekend. This is my definition of winning at life. 🍂🍎🍁🥮
