Slightly delayed "that's a wrap for Gamescom" post. I got to meet so many awesome people, some old, many new. But it is Sunday and I am still pooped, those were intense three days, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Maybe less torrential rain 😅 Already excited for next year :D #gamescom

These are black and rufous elephant shrews (Rhynchocyon petersi) at the Hertfordshire Zoo via their FB. In Bantu, they're called "sengi". These little guys were born February 2026 & are joining mom & dad in foraging for morio worms (beetle larvae). Let's talk about these weird little guys.

Command & Conquer One of the greatest franchises ever, dying the most undignified death possible; as a shitty mobile game. Still have many a fond memory of lan parties, or lugging my PC over to a friend's attic so a few of us could play multiplayer while saying up all hours. It was magic.

what's everyone else's fab examples of once massively popular and influential landmark titles in especially western games from back in the day that have just been forgotten and abandoned completely now. mine is black and white

I wonder how common it is to unlock the jetpack in Satisfactory, only to immediately break your femurs because the jetpack does not let you fly indefinitely (as long as fuel lasts)...
