Apologies, Manchester, I seem to have brought home half the midges of north west Scotland in my roof box.
To all the A-Level students who didn't get the results they wanted today. This doesn't define you. Not even close. Take the time to feel what you feel; be with people who love you; and then make a plan.

🧵 Amid all the speculation about Nigel Farage's 2pm statement, it's worth noting paragraph 40 of the Procedural Protocol to the MPs' Code of Conduct. If he announces he's resigning and seeking a by-election, that would not automatically end the investigation into whether he breached the Code in...

Had the privilege of reviewing @booklearning.bsky.social's MK book for @urbanhistory.bsky.social a couple of years back and I second this: it's a fantastic piece of work.
I grew up in MK and had a less positive experience than many responders here, its a place I was keen to escape. But its worth noting the brilliant historian @booklearning.bsky.social has written a whole book about strange role MK plays in Britain's imagination www.routledge.com/Milton-Keyne...

Today's by-election is another illustration of the problems with FPTP. The result may tell us less about what voters want to happen than whether they can game the system effectively to stop a result most *don't* want. The electoral system should not be an obstacle that voters have to work around.
Seems somewhat relevant to current politics around building use... www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

I've written to Manchester United telling them what I think of Jim Ratcliffe. I first went to Manchester United when I was 8 years old. My mum, my granddad, great-granddad all supporters. What an embarrassment he is.
