I've made a lot of jokes over the years about being small, but its a little frustrating that a lot of the road blocks I've been hitting (medically) over the last few months in the hospital often just come down to "you're tiny". Literally just too smol for most of their equipment.

So I (Amira this time) am back at rehab but on a ventilator again :/ Later I'm going to post some un-shared art from February before all this happened and maybe try to do some art fight if I can. Id just hate to miss it this year.
They've removed the chest tube for the collapsed lung about 5-10 minutes ago and Amira is already breathing easier!
Amira@amiraallis.bsky.social · 2mo agoHey, everyone. Amira's partner here. They was close to be decannulated (trach removed). Unfortunately, something happened and their lung collapsed. They had to go back to the ICU and are in 5a ventilator again. We're hoping for a quick recovery.

Still alive and feeling a lot better! I still might be stuck here a while (unless insurance throws me out) but I'm antsy to do art .-.

Amira@amiraallis.bsky.social · 4mo agoLil update from me, actually Amira! Its not been the smoothest but I get to be sitting up and off the ventilator for a few hours a day now. They even let me drink some water yesterday! I appreciate those who have sent well wishes :) Still recovering but hope to be back home and drawing soon!

Amira@amiraallis.bsky.social · 5mo agoSeveral days ago Amira was transferred to yet another facility to relearn to breathe, drink, move etc. They were doing well initially but had a few complications. As of this morning they are hopefully on the right track again. Please be patient and keep them in your thoughts.

Amira@amiraallis.bsky.social · 5mo agoUpdate on Amira: They needed to undergo a tracheostomy yesterday. Everything went well and they are working on recovery. This will hopefully allow them both time off the ventilator and to hopefully go home sooner.

They are currently in the ICU and will be for a few days. Don't worry, they seem to be on the up and up, and will return to making comics and talking to friends soon.
