So I just had my first code technical where I basically failed walking in because I didn't have an AI coding tool subscription. My gods, fucking wankers, if you want a bad code bot just fucking spin up another agent.

Trying to maintain Professor-level professionalism while a player who has done things (i.e. skipping out on paying for entry) and there is evidence of other wrongdoings (i.e. their girlfriend literally asking them when they think no one is listening "did you cheat?") is really, really difficult.

So, need some quick validation: Recruiter apparently has issue opening PDF in Chrome, so they then then try opening in Microsoft Word and seem surprised when it is a mess. That is a yellow flag, certainly, right?

Do I, for the upcoming regional in Indianapolis: A. Play the deck I won a Cup with, maybe with one or two changes. B. Go fuck it, we ball with Slowking.

So my company wants to integrate a feature using weather forecasting... but instead of just manually seeing when weather events were happening and scheduling based on that information, they want to just jam AI into it. We had The Weather Channel for 4 decades before generative AI, jackasses.

5 minutes. 5 bloody minutes for LA to sell out TCG Masters. Well, better hope I get wave 2 or I need to quietly figure out how I am getting home instead.

This weekend in Seattle was a bit... odd. Like when I was imagining MUs, this was the plan. Hell, on Live (not saying it represents reality), I haven't seen Absol Box in who knows how long. Also, definitely a lot of bricks. Lillie's into 8 items under item lock? Damn you, Tymora!

Okay, quick complaint time: If you mandate 4 days in the office, it isn't a "hybrid" system. You want the label because you know it is a lot better than a full RTO but at that point you just want someone who is trapped in the city.

So, even though Live is on Ascended Heroes, my Slowking testing has been chugging along. And honestly? Powerglass may be my new favorite tool card and I think I have my 60 locked in for Seattle. This was turn 3 of my game against Gholdengo, going first.

PSA for all those out there: While I normally advise against dropping from a tournament, there is no shame in doing so if you think continuing on is going to be worse than dropping, especially mentally. World sucks enough, you're allowed to say, "Nah, I'm good" when you brick 3 times in 4 games.

I am trying to decide if I need an Apcarnist Rants edition of this but honestly: if we are trying to push our society into oblivion by use of generative AI that my manager feels the need to tell us, and I quote, "drink the Kool-Aid a little bit," we have failed as a society for all sorts of reasons.

So, going to give a hot take: 4-0-4 should not be an acceptable record to get to Day 2 of a regional.

So, another Top 512 in Toronto but no Day 2 for me. Surprise, having like 700 fewer players makes getting to Top 512 easier, even with a worse record. I did brick a lot more than expected yet was a less to play through most of them.

So today I've changed a single card from my Vegas list. So, let's see if that's enough to day 2.

Time to start on the road to Toronto (by first picking up a medication). Slowking is coming back for a round 2. #pokemon

So because my mind so badly is not wanting to work tomorrow, it is trying to focus on testing for Toronto. Weeee. Why have I picked Slowking as my ride or die deck.

As a random note, I've been back playing the Pokemon TCG on going on 4 years with hundreds of games and the worst I experienced is someone attempting to cheat me once and being called "the luckiest fucking player" by a former Yu-Gi-Oh! player. I've only played like, I dunno, 10 Commander games

The worst part is he did it A. after an otherwise lovely Commander game and B. with my wife sitting right next to me! This isn't even the locker room talk bullshit circa 2016, this is owning it with your whole fucking chest.

So, even as a Professor, there are days I kind of have to play Pokemom (TCG), but really don't want to. For such days, Pechurant is a best bud.

So Kalvi is trying to nudge me to go to EUIC in spite of actively listing the cost. So, um, would anyone want to split a hotel right next to the convention center? May put my mind at ease.

On today's Tucker Carlson show, he makes clear that he believes that the US fought on the wrong side in World War II. In particular he says that the UK was mistaken to declare war on Germany just because it invaded Poland. And he has lots of sympathy for Herr Hitler throughout.
