Went with mom to pick up an EV5 (her first electric vehicle) and gotta say, it's a really impressive vehicle. Unfortunate the US isn't getting this, it sits really nicely between the EV3 and EV9 and has some stuff I'm jealous of with Rivian

Tip: if you're like me and updating your Apple TV to tvOS 27 made every HomeKit device unresponsive, sign out of your Apple account on the TV, reboot, sign back in, and it should be fixed

Codex needs a setting like "if I haven't interacted with you in 2 hours and there's an update you want to install just do it". Love the updates but seems like there's always one

Forgot my phone at IKEA, went back to a few employees passing it back and forth going "it's so thin what the heck" The iPhone Air isn't a perfect phone but times like that make it worth it

As far as smart home light switches go, why aren't rotary dials more common in North America? Obvious on/off toggle, can't get "out of sync", even easier dimming than paddles, long-press actions, etc. Is there a downside beyond convention? (I'm aware of Lutron's janky one)

Rotary dimmer switch, just a circular button you can press or rotate

Smart home people: for standard looking smart paddle switches, do you keep the usual top = on / bottom = off behavior, or assign each half to a different light and have each button toggle its light on/off? I’m leaning toward the latter, but wondering if it would confuse guests

If you were choosing to buy smart light switches in 2026, which brand/model/protocol are you going with, and why? (Has to support smart bulb mode and not fully kill power to the bulb, I like my color temperature auto changing over the course of the day!)
