i don't know who needs to hear this but actively spending time disecting things in your head and needing to calm your thoughts down by having to repeatedly reassure yourself is a compulsion and it is an OCD symptom, not a healthy coping mechanism or just regular anxiety
maybe a hot take but i like when people are accommodating even if they're being a little funny about it. like i'll take someone who lovingly goes "he's a lil autistic you gotta tell him stuff directly" over people who will never make a joke at my expense but play neurotypical mind games
