Project Hail Mary was... Good. Visually very pleasing and definitely worth the IMAX experience. I'm never gonna dislike anything Ryan Gosling is in (except LaLa Land apparently) but I'm just not on the hype train with most fans. Liked it more than the book though.

In honor of Tatsuya Nakadai I wanted to watch The Human Condition, but my meeting ran way late at work and I didn't have time for a 9 hour movie last night. So I watched Kwaidan instead, at only 3 hours. I'm still processing it, but this is the most stunning ghost movie I've seen.

Can't do weird/F'd up 80s animation without Akira. This is my (...checks notes) 4th favorite anime film of all time and this rewatch validated that. The detail and care put into this film is so apparent and equally impressive. Eventually I'll read the manga, but I say that every time I watch this.
Secret of Nimh upon rewatch is great, but maybe I had a touch of nostalgia in my memory of it. Still a great story about a hero who is just a normal person (mouse)and some creepy visuals (I direct you to the last image.) Also answer this for me chat, what is Mrs. Brisby's first name???

When the Wind Blows is a haunting tale contrasted by its storybook visual style. My heart breaks for this couple who get it all wrong simple by being too trusting and following the rules. Also can't gloss over the serene music by Sir Roger Waters.

Angel's Egg wasn't exactly weird, but was very good. Surreal minimalist visuals, truly an example of the phrase "Every frame a painting."
Now THIS is weird. Son of the White Mare was excellent. I love that my main thought across the whole film was "Am I high?"
Gandahar was a little weird, but just a little. Fun sci-fi sotry. Characters had that early animation staring into the void look about them, which is always funny. But I need WEIRDER!!!
I changed my mind, I watch enough baseball. I'm gonna do a "animation August" type thing instead, with an emphasis on weird traumatizing 80s films. We'll how long until I decide to change my mind again.

Junk Head is another weird, fucked up stop-motion animated film that I loved to no surprise. Apparently this was the start of a trilogy and I'm on board.
I'm gonna have bad dreams after watching Mad God, aren't I. All kinds of strange and Fucked up... It was awesome! Loved this.
