Victoria Chang's poetry amazes me. To say she has range isnt quite right, it is more an openness to evolution. The elements and preoccupation remain but the branch and expand. Read her new book The Tree of Knowledge.

day 18 of the #sealeychallenge finally picked up Obit by Victoria Chang. this collection was on my radar long before I even started meaningfully engaging with poetry. was very excited and fortunate to finally find it through one of my local libraries!

The front cover of Obit by Victoria Chang (published by Copper Canyon Press) features a faded purplish-red newsprint background. It displays a repeating grid pattern of a photograph of the author alongside text styled like a newspaper obituary. The text is an excerpt from one of the poems within the collection.
