Blessed Autumn Equinox everyone in the Northern Hemisphere. In the centre of this photo, under the ivy, is the second brood of baby pigeons this year making four babies in total that have fledged. Their parents have been awesome and now come and get my attention when they want feeding 🧙‍♀️🐦🐦🐦🐦

I struggle each year, to put into words what this event means to me. And now it’s been 25 years which doesn’t seem right or real. This photograph and the words of the photographer (screenshots from Facebook) sums it up perfectly. To me, on September 11th 2001, “the world utterly broke”.

A beautiful day to film some content for YSJ social media about my York Environment Festival events. Look out for footage of me hugging some trees and talking about (amongst other things) the inventive ways in which people used oak trees to cure toothache and disease 🌳🌲🍂

Join me as part of the York Environment Festival to explore environmental philosophy via the folklore of plants. Four events are planned: two at York St John University and two at the University of York. Details can be found in the images or message for info. Places are free. No booking is required.

So - the UK emergency alert just went off! Absolute chuffing chaos! I’m a child of the 80s and the Cold War! Images of Threads and hiding under my kitchen table came to mind! Was getting ready to stockpile buckets of water and cover the windows in tinfoil! 🤯
