fcon is accepting accom reqs until 8/1. would rly appreciate a few more folks writing in asking them to re-commit to masking as a form of community care/accessibility. even if you aren't going, it'd be so useful to have folks saying "i may have gone, but because of this policy change, i cannot go"

if u have 5-10min today, here's the deal: fl4mec0n (nyc queer con) dropped masking req this year, despite past commitment to accessibility. this is the only con many medically vulnerable nyc folks attend, bc they've been effectively locked out of events that refuse to do anything about covid risk

new patches i’ll have at bics tmrw @ industry city in brooklyn. also will have very limited stock of these two mask chain designs, with custom fitting available. hope to see you there 🫰

3 new patch designs. 2 are rectangular black canvas with white ink; one reads “ask for a mask” with a studded and safety pinned mask, surrounded by starburst designs; the other reads “pit no spit” with star-like beings holding hands in a circle around a mask. both include a subtext of “punks for ppe” the third patch is black ink on tan canvas; a snugstone spell from witch hat atelier, split in two halves so they can be sewn onto things separately and joined at will. puts these on your battle jacket sleeves to give a really good hugtwo silver mask chain designs worn over a black kn95, one with dangling spikes, the other with dangling diamond star and sphere charms

flamecon switching from requiring masks for attendees to "strongly encouraging"....... do you "strongly encourage" other health accommodations? we all share the same air. you are actively putting people at risk by making this an individual choice

did anyone at global game jam this year make something public health related with the theme being "mask" or would that just be too much cognitive dissonance for devs when they're still excluding people from onsite jams by not instituting any covid precautions
