Nashvillian. Singer. Songwriter. Poet. Teacher. Mother of a 6 year old. Mediocre cook. There are too many books on my bedside table. And I love moody British crime dramas.

I played The Ryman in Nashville last night as part of a celebration of Judy Collins' 85th birthday. She discovered me 20 years ago and changed my life. It was a dream to play that stage and an honor to do it with Judy.

My son Huck just realized what word his name rhymes with. I told him it's an adult word and that Mommy and Daddy don't say it. With my fingers crossed behind my fucking back.

I used to be a grumpy morning person. Some called me aloof but I was just in fear. I've gotten in the habit of talking to people in line at Southwest and asking them about themselves. 99% of the time they tell me a cool story. There's a song in there.

I asked Huck if he knew who MLK was. He said "He taught everyone to be kind to each other and then he was shot." And then he said "a long time ago black people couldnt drink from the water fountains. Now we are all equal." I hugged him and thought well...

I've been teaching this workshop since March 16. First one of 2025 starts soon. Limited to 10 spots. Only two left. Email me if you want to join a supportive group of fellow songwriters. Guaranteed to inspire and make your work stronger. Amy@amyspeace.com.
