Lemon Difficult Studio

Critically acclaimed design studio, and creator of the hit immersive show The Key of Dreams. Delightful combination of Theatre, Hospitality, and Gaming in a 17th century manor house overnight. Set in a Folk-Horror Lovecraftian world.
I spent a lovely afternoon chatting with Graham from @immersiverumours.com We talked about the design of Chapter two of The Key of Dreams, our creative process and what comes next.

Huge thanks to the team for having me out again, this time covering the inimitable @emilycarding.bsky.social as Dee in @thekeyofdreams.co.uk: Shadows Lengthen. Special thanks to one guest who was surprised an actor could play different roles — emergencies happen, that's what swings are for!
Hello lovely community! Sorry that I keep forgetting this platform exists - I pledge to do better!! BUT - we have a special October spooky season treat. We are running a special series of a spooky story podcast called Stories from the Shadows.
Well the April run of Key of Dreams is over, an incredible set of audiences, (including the delightful Sam Booth) and some of the Lemon Difficult team are taking a well deserved break in the beautiful Welsh countryside in the grounds of Treowen manor.
We had a chat with the wonderful Adrian Hon about the show, how we do it, what inspires us and got quite into the nuts and bolts of it. There are a few minor spoilers, but it was a delightful chat.
I spoke to the makers of The Key of Dreams, one of the most unique immersive experiences in the world! We get into how the business works, the technology that powers it, what makes it different from immersive theatre and escape rooms, and their plans for the future…
A wonderful thing happens when you work in theatre, especially when it is unusual and fairly niche: you find your tribe. I am very glad @emilycarding.bsky.social is in ours!
Building puzzle elements into this beautiful room is a dream. My favourite is hiding things amongst the books and ornaments already there and you know you've done well, when packing up and people have to ask "Is this ours?"
Introducing the amazing Tonya! In many ways, this fabulous human has been with us from the beginning but she is now officially the newest member of our quirky family. www.thekeyofdreams.co.uk/blog/tonya

@thekeyofdreams.co.uk Looking forward to playing with this new gadget at the shows next week! Not long to go now. There's still one or two spaces left of people fancy a last minute horror investigation jaunt to beat the January blues.
Getting excited about the new cocktail gizmo for the bar at the show! This should be fun!
It's prep and packing day! So much to print, so much to pack. But hey, we're pretty organised! Additionally, we have had one room come available for this weekend. So if you want a last minute super deal, we'd love to welcome folks from the Bluesky creative community. Details in comment
One of the really fun parts of my work writing for The Key of Dreams, is getting to indulge my inner history and folklore nerd. Researching historical traditions is so much fun. This week, I made a leaflet for the Yuletide show, here is just a sneaky peek - the rest is redacted!
One of the things that always feels almost magical every time is going from an idea to a tangible *thing* that . So receiving the new festive field guides for our intrepid investigators of our Christmas show gives me particular delight!
So proud of what we've made. And lots of other people like it too!
Been playing with some seasonal designs for the Christmas shows today. Doesn't seem quite right to keep promoting the May day dance in the depths of winter. I love working from old art and tweaking it. Rather pleased with how these turned out.
