I look forward to catching up with friends and colleagues at #ECVP2026 @ecvp.bsky.social! Don't miss our symposium on visual foraging during Monday's first talk session (co-organised by @scienceanna.bsky.social and me)

Butterflies have extraordinary patterns. Come to my talk if you want to see their potential power to confuse predators in flight! 📍Room Londra | 🕓 3:45 pm | Thursday | #ISBE2026 @isbe2026.bsky.social

Spending time in lovely Rijeka this week with @ljerkaostojic.bsky.social and @edlegg.bsky.social - what could be better than sunshine and science with friends! :)

Roll up, roll up: @riadsala.bsky.social did some more thinking about our model of visual foraging: doi.org/10.1371/jour.... It now has some shiny new parameters (absolute direction!) and it's not bad at distinguishing individual differences in strategies too. #PsychSciSky #VisionScience

Had a very lovely trip to @teap2026.bsky.social. A new conference to me and have had a lot of fun. Thanks to @tuennermann.bsky.social (and Iris!) for putting together the foraging symposium! Pictured: successful foraging to enable continued science.

A little pre-print for your Monday morning #visionscience: www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-6.... This was a fun, if slightly wacky project... would love to hear any thoughts/critiques!! @riadsala.bsky.social

If you're a #visionscience or #psychscisky person starting to think about student dissertation projects, you might be interested in our visual search/foraging experiment code at github.com/scienceanna/.... You can configure everything via CSV files (lots of options!) and it all runs on Psychopy.

@riadsala.bsky.social and I have been spending a long time thinking about modelling visual foraging. v2 model glow up: 1) it can account for individual diffs in lots of summary stats 2) it can deal with 'outliers' really nicely and 3) it should be easier to use! osf.io/preprints/ps...
