Here at the field edge, here at the high hedge, we navigate a ghosted landscape. We climb the same stone steps, tread the same threshold as a skulk of spectres. I may not see them, they may not see me, but we travel the territory together as good enough companions. – #CLNolan

I’m getting a strong feeling that this bank holiday might end with me in the local, drinking an excellent pint of ale whilst reading an equally excellent book. I’m a bit psychic like that

One night I opened the back door, I forget why. There was quite a big spider at the threshold. It was kind of poised. As the door opened, they charged into the house at full sprint. They had been waiting! I never saw them again, but I always wished them happy fly hunting.

Whenever I eat a pear at lunchtime I think of my former colleague Heidi and her baffled question, “what IS that thing you’re eating?” (I assumed that pears existed in Heidi’s native Stevenage, but who could say.)

The Hum summoned us to walk below it. Across fields, through woods. Under roads where traffic's static growl never ceased. Every transmission tower a temple. Every pylon tattooing its place on the electric ley of the land onto our very being. – Trippy Pete, ex-Pylon Person

RIP Tim Curry. Everyone has their first Tim Curry. I think mine was Frank’n’Furter. As a straight man, I have no shame in saying that no matter what role he was playing, he embodied sexiness in a way that definitely helped his audience discover a lot about themselves.
