Remembering #PeteBurns, born this day in 1959. Long before Big Brother, Pete sang for Nightmares In Wax who had a true #postpunk and early #goth vibe about them - before transforming into Dead Or Alive and achieving #synthpop success! Pete sadly passed away in 2016.

Retired people saying βdonβt work too hardβ. F**k you
Gods save us from people who understand neither maths nor science yet feel confident enough to crow something like βthe math ainβt mathing and the science ainβt sciencingβ
Just got these through the post on the same day. Even on a Tuesday afternoon, I smiled.
Drawing created by Danielle Koren, c.1979, in the art therapy studio at Netherne hospital where she was compelled to live. This drawing on scrap paper is very small, found among Edward Adamsonβs files of personal correspondence which contain many cards & letters from individuals sent after release
Yes I acknowledge it makes sense in context but βI need my car to meet criminalsβ is now my favourite basis for an attempted exceptional hardship plea. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Itβs 23:23, seems like an apt time to say goodnight to all the fabulous mystical people. Goodnight.
Just for the record, Iβm a vegan and I donβt tell anyone about it. Unless we happen to be ordering food somewhere. Sorry if that spoils your weak stereotypical joke
For some of us, every day is Yorkshire Day. And to you I sayβ¦now then.
Lughnasadh spells the end of the dog days of summer for me, but then that may just be wishful thinking
You might still see Venus and Arcturus glinting in the barren blue desert of the summer sky.
This assignment freaked me right out as a kid, and incredibly still does as an adult
Sapphire & Steel (31st July 1979). Sapphire & Steel arrive at an abandoned railway station and encounter paranormal investigator Mr. Tully (Gerald James).
From the museum at Edinburgh Castle. Iβm fascinated by tales of maritime misadventure generally, but something about this story seemed especially poignant
+++ #OTD, 39 years ago, the 31st of July 1987, The Lost Boys, was released. +++ "Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire." The title is a reference to the Peter Pan and Neverland characters, the Lost Boys, who like vampires never grow up. #TheLostBoys
I write for myself and in doing that and refusing to pander to the middle class and the market, I am writing for the marginalised, the bruised and the weary. And as one of those folk, I can tell you, we bloody well need some re-enchantment.
We saw the Bodyworlds exhibition in London around 2005-ish, not something Iβll ever forget.
Sometimes I think βkeep showing upβ is the best advice I ever heard. No need to overthink, or put any pressure on yourself. Just keep showing up.

Happy birthday to me. Very much against my better judgement I was persuaded to go on a 10 mile walk around irritatingly steep hills - beer o clock now I think! Hope youβre all doing brilliantly.
