Last year ICE said a man tried to murder a female ICE officer while she was trying to arrest him. They swore under oath he grabbed her by the neck and tried to choke her to death. He was even indicted for attempted murder. Problem is, it never happened! Bystander video unraveled the lie.

For many years, there were allegations that ICE would “release” critically ill people in hospitals so that their deaths wouldn’t be recorded as in ICE custody. To fix this, in 2021 the Biden admin required ICE to report deaths occurring up to 30 days after release. Now that rule has been dropped.

Today, alongside Speaker Menin, I continued our call for a reduction to the Passthrough Entity Tax Credit (PTET) — a tax break for some of the wealthiest New Yorkers. As we face a historic fiscal deficit, we ask that those with the most pay their fair share.
