When municipal council candidates promise to freeze or lower taxes, it that a reasonable promise? Allison Habkirk, a registered planner and Capilano University instructor, laughs out loud at the question. Wrote about taxes for @thetyee.ca today. thetyee.ca/News/2026/10...

This isn't exactly a humblebrag because it just indicates that I'm heavy, but if I want to farmer's carry 75 - 100% of my bodyweight i will have to buy these, like, farmer's walk things you can stack plates onto because the gym does *not* have heavy enough kettlebells

Got a, like, “en guise de rappel” email saying school pic orders are due by Tuesday; child never brought her proofs home; no fear, there’s a code lookup online; ope! record not found; cannot solve the problem. It is driving me NUTS (short drive)

I grew up so angry & on guard & ready to physically defend myself, so I know that I can. But I just don't really want to live like that again. The atmosphere we're living in right now sucks. People feel very, very comfortable being bigoted in online spaces. The "r" word has come back. I hate it.

Big Yikes for the NDP in the new poll just put out today by Mainstreet Research: Conservatives: 45% NDP: 37% Greens: 11% OneBC: 6% CentreBC: 1% That’s the highest number we’ve seen for the Conservatives, but within the margin of error of polls last week. Anger over snap call not subsiding.
