Sometimes when I think about how useless my degree is wrt job prospects unless I pour more money into getting a PhD and then magically getting tenure and I start to wonder if they'd even give me a job on a longliner — I really put more of myself into my own character than I thought huh.

The thing abt Hank Green using AI is not only that it marrs his credibility forever, but it has now cast a large, looming shadow of doubt over all my favourite video essayists and their own usage of AI in their research and even writing process.

friendly reminder that if your server allows minors, it is your responsibility as moderators to ensure they are not advertised 18+ content. if you want to make a space for that content, make it, there are plenty of people who would engage with it. it is not the minor's fault if they engage with it.
