Thanks for the recommendation to use my excess pineapple juice in a pork marinade. Porkchops turned out great tonight, served with a yellow plum salsa. And of course a couple cocktails with pineapple juice - Hotel Nacional and a Jungle Bird! Just one more liter to use up now!

Studios, where he was the driving force and president. His career spanned nearly 60 years and heavily shaped the history of Hollywood. He has a star on Canada's Walk of Fame. 📸 WB

I love my alternatives-to-cars-friendly neighborhood. Tonight while walking down our street to the grocery store we saw dozens of pedestrians, several dogs, 3 bicycles, 2 unicycles, 1 e-bike, and and a motorcycle. And only 2 cars that were moving (many more that were parked, of course).
Finally got my hands on a Canadian whisky that's attempting to be bourbon. Even without looking at the back label there's a lot of telegraphing going on - "straight whisky" is not a term that's really used in connection with Canadian. 1/4

I'm involved with SF fandom, and some people in our community think we have especially a lot of drama. But I think every hobby community has drama, but you only notice it in the ones that you are part of. What's the big drama/contentious topic in a hobby community you're involved with?
And the principle of all of this is AWESOME and obviously the point. But I do want to note that modern dishwasher detergents actually work better if the dishes are dirty. They are enzymatic and need things to react with. So you should scrape off chunks, but do not rinse!!

There are 4 Buddhist monks and a Catholic priest on my plane. Feels like the setup for a joke!
Also Boston, where my plumber has an almost unintelligible Boston Irish accent, and his apprentice has a heavy native-Spanish-speaker one. But they're making a great team!

I am really sick of shitty and entitled Uber drivers who think they are doing you a favor by giving you a ride. If you're going to bitch out your passengers for not closing the trunk the way you want them to, then maybe you should have gotten your ass out of the car and loaded the luggage yourself.

Vacation mixology! Someone in our group requested I pick up some rye. I hadn't had a chance to try the Overholt bottled-in-bond yet, so that's what I went for. Forgot to buy an orange for garnish, so I'm using a clementine instead!
