Excited to share our new publication in Bioacoustics today, describing the vocal repertoire of white-nosed coatis! 🐾 We combined traditional acoustic analyses with an unsupervised approach to characterise the complexity and diversity of their vocal behaviour. doi.org/10.1080/0952...

And just like that, the final day of #CBehav has come to an end. 😭🏜️ Tomorrow, the students and TAs begin the long journey back home. Today was all about the final presentations, and it is honestly mind-blowing what these 4 teams managed to accomplish in just 6 days of fieldwork! 🧵👇

Day 7 of #CBehav! 🌅 We woke up before the sun and spent the morning visiting meerkats, Cape ground squirrels and yellow mongooses

​Day 6 of #CBehav! 🏜️ Yes, we skipped the Day 5 post, but we have a valid excuse. Got invited to a Party by the amazing crew here at the KRC and got back way too late for social media. 🥳🍻

Day 4 of #CBehav! 🏜️ Woke up super early to start the morning in the field observing the social dynamics of Cape ground squirrel groups. 🐿️📊

Day 3 of #CBehav kicked off with animal communication theory, followed by students heading out into the field to practice recording audio! 📻🎙️

Day 2 of #CBehav was packed! We kicked things off with @cinig.bsky.social Gall discussing observation methods and role of ethics in animal behavior research. 🐾

First day of the course 🏜️ was all about fieldwork essentials: radio comms, GPS navigation, and radio telemetry tracking.
