My family is in Spain this week and on Wednesday we went to Zaragoza to see the #eclipse2026 in totality. It was amazing!! This video doesn’t do justice to the entire experience but I keep rewatching it. The collective joy and excitement of the crowd was a wonderful part of it!
Conferencing the last two days at the Psych One conference that is all about Introduction to Psychology courses, and I’m going home with several concrete ideas to bring into my course this fall semester! 🤩 Also I am a certified nerd who now has an APA style pen and an I ❤️ Stats sticker. 🧐

✨Twenty years ago ✨today, right at this time (4pm) I made the best decision of my life - marrying the wonderful Steven Jax! 💗🤩😘 I’m so thankful for the life we have built together and for our sweet girls we are raising. We look forward to many more happy years! 🤩
For 4 semesters, my 300-level class has contributed data to the ManyNumbers project, a global research effort in which over 100 labs are studying how children learn about number. Excited to hopefully share how to integrate these projects into undergraduate courses at the Big Team Science conference.
A new monkey has been discovered! So cool! 🤩 “This is a big deal for sure,”said Joshua Linder,a co-founder and president of the Forest Collective, a conservation nonprofit who was not involved with the study.“To find a relatively large-bodied primate that we’ve never seen before is really amazing.”

#CDS2026 was a great conference! 🎉The pre-conferences (digital media & dev sci at non-R1 institutions) were the highlight for me. It’s exciting to see where the children & media field is going and it was validating to talk to others doing cog dev sci at SLACs & other non-R1s.
SCORE, a collaboration of 865 researchers, is now released as three papers in Nature, six preprints, and a lot of data (cos.io/score/). SCORE examined repeatability of findings from the social-behavioral sciences and tested whether human and automated methods could predict replicability.

True story, in the past month I have taught 2 (TWO!!!) undergrad research assistants HOW TO SAVE A FILE. 🤯 They’re so used to Google Docs auto saving files they don’t know how to do it. 🤔😅
Just put me on a flaming raft and push it out to sea.
New publication out today! 🥳 It was once again great to work with this amazing team: @ellroche.bsky.social @dougpiper.bsky.social @drzosh.bsky.social @geotro.bsky.social and Rachel Barr!

My Moodle sites and syllabi are now ready for spring semester! 🎉 🤩 I'm teaching my two favorite classes - Lifespan Development I and II (with lab). 💖
So far this week, I've productively procrastinated on course prep, but the bright side is that I have a professional website now! 🎉 I'm a newbie to this but loved the Canva template that was super easy to work with. Check it out and let me know if you have any suggestions... proflaurenmyers.com
I'm looking for resources/slides for teaching undergrads about causality in research design and statistics--anyone have any recommendations? Thanks so much! @stpteachpsych.bsky.social
