I’m glad that the @goodlawproject.org is launching a legal challenge against the EHRC’s new Code of Practice, which is dangerous, unworkable and has been opposed by a quarter of all MPs. The Code will discriminate against trans people and subject many others to gender policing based on stereotypes.

Glad that in his first few days, Andy Burnham has recognised the areas where the previous government made the wrong choices, and that he is introducing emergency cost-of-living measures.

The independent inquiry into the events leading up to the Nottingham attacks laid bare the most catastrophic failings across public institutions. Accountability is essential. I therefore welcome the corporate manslaughter investigation into Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.

Campaigners, including families affected by Hillsborough and the Manchester Arena bombing, fought against plans to exempt the secret services from the duty of candour. The government dropped those plans, and last week the Hillsborough Law passed all its stages in the House of Commons.

Ending rough sleeping is the kind of bold ambition our renewed Labour government needs. Very glad to see the new Prime Minister make this his first pledge. More of this please.

The Hillsborough Law has passed all its stages in the House of Commons, marking a historic moment for justice and the end of state cover-ups. For 37 years, the families of the 97 fought for truth and accountability from public officials while carrying unimaginable grief. 1/3

Yesterday, I voted against the Immigration and Asylum Bill because it is needlessly cruel and will divert resources into an unfair, unsafe and unworkable system.
