Y'all know I love a creepy kid story.
A huge, HUGE (!!!) thanks to @meaganlucas.bsky.social and the team at @reckonreview.bsky.social for publishing my creepy-ass, lead-paint story, “Communion.” (Seriously, I owe them an insane amount of bourbon and brownies for this.) reckonreview.com/communion-fi...
Hey, I made the local paper 😎 Thanks for the write-up @scsentinel.bsky.social!

I wrote 'What You Lost' to process my grief and anger over Hurricane Helene, particularly the response from our Federal Government and my Congressman Chuck Edwards. But it's one of my more hopeful stories, because it's maybe less about what I lost, (all my fucks) and more about what I found.
Pics of the Piedmont Publishing Symposium by the wonderful Trisha Slay. 1. Kyler Campbell saying something really wise and thoughtful 2. Best pic of my jaw line ever taken Please support small/university presses who are doing the Lord's work pushing boundaries and platforming new voices.
Look at these brilliant writers I got to hang out with today at the Piedmont Publishing Symposium. So grateful to the organizers for pulling this crew together for a refreshing discussion of Southern Lit and to my fellow panelists for their thoughtful insight.
Books of 2026: 16 Trash Poems for Trash People I consider @thedrevlow.bsky.social my friend. I don't know poetry. These don't read like Billy Collins or Mary Oliver. There is nothing beautiful. There is a lot of vulnerability. A lot of hard truth. A lot of shared humanity.
Books of 2026: 15 The Keeper Tana French can do no wrong. I love how she writes women, so I didn't love this one as much as earlier books. However, it's moody and quiet and devastating: exactly what her readers want.
My book out in the wild with @meaganlucas.bsky.social!
It's finals week so I crawled out of my study cave, and I'm back on my bullshit (fresh pixie, red lip, hawking books) to tell you you need this book. P.M Raymond, y'all. -- a southern Gothic noir journey!! @pmraymond.bsky.social
Went to see Patty to check on the broken shelving unit and saw that Patty was representing @meaganlucas.bsky.social's big event next week! Meagan is everywhere! (You got the fancy paper, Meagan!)

It's 80 degrees here, and I got some pretty great writing news (that hopefully I can share soon). That, and this cold diet coke have convinced me to get back on the horse and finish this damn collection. 🤞🏻
I'm so excited to get back to @robertmorrisuniversity and see my friends in @rmuenglishandmediaarts I hope you'll come listen to these fantastic students read their work (and me!).
Really looking forward to getting to talk to @pmraymond.bsky.social Kyler Campbell, and Scott Gould. You should come, too!

I would love an Anthony Award nomination of On Fire and Under Water—for the talented 15 authors and the dedicated editorial staff at RHP who poured their all into these stories. This anthology rings with truth, while also being and entertaining, empathetic, & emotional read. Thanks for considering!
I feel like you needed to see this. Flint loves buttercream.
I needed a treat, so I registered for this. Hoping to see some short crime fiction and DC area buddies. Also hoping Art Taylor's session on novel-in-stories helps me fix my current WIP mess. www.eastcoastcrime.com
What is all this new grey hair caused by: A) teenagers B) law school C) the fall of democracy, the destruction of the constitution, and the obliteration of human rights.
