Hypotia corticalis might only be a micro-moth, but it is a great looking moth! - moth-trapping at CIMA, Tarifa, Cadiz Province, Andalucia, Spain on the 5th of August 2026.

Crassicornella agenjoi is an easy micro-moth to identifiy as it looks unlike any other micro - or at least that is the story so far! However, at least some from the Tarifa area appear to have different DNA sequences to others. A rare moth to me, as I come from Britain, so good to see a few Straw Belles - Aspitates gilvaria in the traps! - in the Spanish Pyrenees - moth-trapping at the Col du Somport, Huesca Province, Spain on the 2nd of August 2026!

And this is the opposite - a common late summer moth in Britain, but i have never seen it in the south of Spain. Orange Swift - Triodia sylvina (I have only seen 5 before in Spain and all in the north in August 2020 along with Teresa Farino) - in the Spanish Pyrenees - moth-trapping at the Col du Somport, Huesca Province, Spain on the 2nd of August 2026!

Definitely not familiar to me from Britain was this moth - only the second I have seen! It is the large and well marked Dichagyris musiva - in the Spanish Pyrenees - moth-trapping at the Col du Somport, Huesca Province, Spain on the 2nd of August 2028!

I am off on my moth travels again to Spain & here is the start of my long journey! It was a long 12 hour drive across France to the Spanish border in the Pyrenees! My Pyrenean crossing was again at the excellent Col du Somport - what a fantastic dawn view from sleeping in my van there!!??

This was the frantic scene, just inside my front door - loading lots of moth traps and books etc into my van leaving my inner city Birmingham house, England on the 1st of August 2026.

And after a long 12 hours plus drive, right across France from Calais to the Pyrenees - here was the welcome sign for Spain at the Col du Somport crossing at 11pm on the 2nd of August 2028!

And here was my sleeping spot for the night, in my van in the Spanish Pyrenees - moth-trapping at the Col du Somport, Huesca Province, Spain on the 2nd of August 2028!
