Everything is fine! We had a complication tonight which turned into A LOT of blood loss, which turned into a 911 call and a trip to the ER. The doc said this is a bit common, but it was an intense night. Cid is recovering well and will be back on healing schedule in no time!

Vagina, day 12: self dilation actually went surprisingly well this morning. Been cuddly with @Derbeste1977 and playing my Bard in BG3, Bona Soul. He’s a sexy one 😅.

Dr. follow up time. He’s here to see his gynecologist! 😆 In all seriousness, dilation has been a challenge and there have been a few concerns… but the doc says things are looking good and helped walk us through better dilation. All is well… but challenges still await.

Vagina, day 9: some happy if slow progress dilating. Slow and steady but able to get to the 3rd for 5 desired markers on the dilator. Endurance is improving overall, minus some linger abdominal swelling and minor pain when I try to twist or engage it for much effort. Positive direction though!

Vagina, day 8 pt 2: still learning myself a dilation. Some fingering by my husband helped resolve one issue: clotted blood/necrotizing tissue (both anticipated). That cleared up some obstruction. Laxative helps the other issue: being backed up from painkillers for a week. Relief!

Came back from a store run for cold packs to my pup for the first time post op. I have officially won the Michael Burnham award for the most crying.

Rougher day for Cid today. Pain in his pelvic floor is about the same, but pain in his core / lower abs have flared up. Managing well though with pain meds and ice packs.

Vagina, day 5 pt 2: earlier post should have said day 5. Today has definitely been more painful than the rest. My abdominal core below the belly button and above my vagina is just in a constant 5-6/10 in terms of pain. Strong constant ache. I’m pushing through and resting a lot.

Most special moment yet. Cid is a very introverted man and this is A LOT of emotion for him.

Vagina, day 4 pt 2: Out of hospital and in hotel until the 12th. Catheter in until Monday when the packing in the vaginal will also be removed. I was gunning for a shower after not having one almost 4 days, so here is the moment water ran down my body the first time. Things ARE swollen for now.

Discharged from the hospital and back in a comfortable hotel bed. I CAN FINALLY HOLD HIM!
