Gotta start posting again here before the Bluesky pages start stealing my posts
My latest obsession has been Magic's Commander format! I still play YGO, but I also have started playing Commander on Friday nights with a couple of pals who are a bit more casual than me. Commander is a great fit for them because building a deck is more about expression than optimal cards.
Been taking a short break from Yu-Gi-Oh to play Pokemon Gym Leader Challenge and MtG Commander with some of my non-YGO pals
I finally got around to replacing the plastic cape on my Kuwagata Ohger figure with the cloth cape replacement part. It's a pretty substantial improvement not just in being show accurate but also in actually staying in place!
Finished Unicorn Overlord and then immediately started a new playthrough on the post-game hardest difficulty mode Unreal game, Vanillaware does it again
saw a bum ass thread on twitter called "games so good I gotta gatekeep" and because I think romanticizing gatekeeping is just about the lamest thing you can do here's a counter-thread "Games so good I literally will not shut up about them" I'll start:
you know your brain is cooked on action figure nonsense when you buy a $25 alternate cape for a figure just so it will look more show-accurate
been thinking about squid girl lately i have no idea why this particular anime resonated with me so much in like 2012 but whenever i got my metagross figure, I thought to myself it might be time to finally hunt down a squid girl figure to go with it i never really let go of the page did I?
Yesterday I busted out Advance Wars 1+2 at the gaming club for the first time in months and almost immediately had kids dropping other stuff to join in. Advance Wars is such an underrated multiplayer game. It's like a digital board game which requires almost no setup to get people into it!
talking about competitive yugioh online is exhausting "go over meticulously detailed reasoning as to why despite being claimed as a combo-deterrent, maxx c fails at doing so because the combo decks play it" some guy: maxx c does deter combo decks because it stopped my opponent once in md 🙄🙄🙄
the overlap between ai bros and crypto bros shows that really all that people care about is a shortcut to being successful shortcut to being an artist, shortcut to being rich it's all about circumventing any kind of learning for instant gratification
unhinged that we have a dune rts and now someone is making a dune survival mmo and yet we don't have a baldur's gate 3 style dune rpg
i don't want to hear any x and y revisionism because of this new game yeah pokemon legends za is a pretty cool concept and hopefully it rehabilitates the story and lore of gen 6 bc that stuff was pretty cool but as single player pokemon rpgs x and y were incredibly rough
you: want a new pokemon ranger game where you're some kind of pokemon park ranger guy or whatever me: wants a new pokemon ranger game where a group of five color-coded trainers form a super sentai team and pilot a giant pokemon-shaped mecha
i went in expecting slop i didn't expect z version you have my attention
i will never turn down a chance to make fun of magic while also making fun of yugioh
