We keep us safe

Disability self-advocate, PTA mom, political strategist, Minnesotan(ish), collector of cats. she/her I cry a lot, but I am so productive. It’s an art. (Taylor Swift)

My kid just randomly mentioned that someone on her sports team was in the Ascension shooting and a very brave boy saved her and 6 other kids and I did not start sobbing immediately, but I did take a minute in the bathroom to sob. We are failing our children so completely.

My 7yo walks up to me while I’m watching the Wild game and says “Is this boy hockey or girl hockey?” So I say “Boy hockey.” And she shakes her head and says “Ew. I don’t watch boy hockey. Girl hockey is better." I didn't even teach her that, she just figured it out on her own. Seriously, an icon.

Man, I love that PTA invoked the all-timer year of 1975 in his speech. Go watch all five of those movies! One Battle will last. Sinners will last. Congratulations to all and to all a good night!

Imagine someone steals your identity and instead of helping you, the government just closes all your bank accounts. When you ask them why they say well no one can steal from you if you have no money! That’s what JD Vance is doing to disability services in Minnesota. Punishing the victims of fraud.

My 5 and a half year old awoke in the middle of the night with terrible jaw pain. After some poking, I alerted him he was getting a new molar. “WHY DO I HAVE TO KEEP GROWING TEETH?!” he wailed. Why, indeed.
